Hi all!

YES IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN!

The New Paper New Face it back for another year!

New Face has helped launched many young woman to become full time models, actresses and entertainers (Entertainers and actresses including Jayley Woo, Julie Tan and  Dawn Yeo. Models include Vivien Ong, Sara Chan and Christabel Campbell).

So for all the girls who keep asking me about New Face, let me just share a little of my experience.

Every year, new face looks out for different themes/ types of girls. For example, in my year (ie last year) was the year for commercial girls, and the other years were edgy girls etc, so you'll never know what is it they are looking for every year hence i urge all to definitely give it a shot. 

My honest opinion is that if you have always thought of being in the limelight, definitely give it a shot. It was one of the best experience I've ever gotten and I've made tons of new friends. First off, you don't necessarily have to WIN this competition to launch your career in these industries. Many of the girls from my batch didn't win but later on went on to sign with modelling agencies and new face provides this platform for you to be scouted (plus boost start to helping you have a portfolio) and it did provide me with the necessary experiences needed to continue in these industry. 

I am really grateful to have been able to make it into the top 20 because of the fact that i got to learn  new things and do new things that never in my life would i ever get to experience.

This year there is some new twist to the competition, instead of the traditional 14 to 23 age limit, THERE IS NO AGE LIMIT THIS YEAR. 

Information are as followed

Walk in auditions-
Date: 14 june 2014
Time: 2pm
Where: Bugis + (atrium level 2)

My advice is to come in light makeup (ie: bb cream and mascara at most, even better if none is applied), wear a fitting top (white tank would be ideal), heels (the higher the better, but its important that you are comfortable in it) and i would suggest to come in either shorts or bandage skirt.
*Bring along a photo of yourself too.

Look out for online submission via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter too! selected few will be given a chance to get through round 2 straight (just like i did last year).


It was definitely fun and I really think everyone should give it a go. 

PS; even if you didn't make it last year etc, keep trying. sometime determination pays off as well :)

High Tea @ Carousel

It's been so long since I've met up with one of my closest friend from secondary school and so she suggested to go for high tea at Carousel. Literally my "virgin" high tea trip and i must say, I'm game for another high tea session anytime soon. 

Carousel is certified Halal and in year 2014, card holders of UOB, DBS/POSB, Citibank, Amex and OCBC are entitled to 10% off weekdays AND weekends (only applicable to debit and credit cards) and they are available for breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner. 

There was a whole spread food ranging from seafood, Sashimi, Sandwiches, Salads, Shabu Shabu, Ice Kachang, Quiche, dim sum, noodle stations and many many more.

I was filled full when I left the place, and I mean what’s better than having good food and good company at the same time, couldn't ask for more.

The Hip Parade @ JEM

HEY THERE!

So yesterday i attended JEM's first inaugural Spring/Summer'14 fashion campaign show produced by Daniel Boey and was very honored to be invited along with some of the few TNP new face 2013 girls. 

Drinks and finger foods were served while waiting for all the guest to arrive and they were DELICIOUS. We kept hogging onto the platters and everything a server comes to us, the plate of food is literally half gone. 

These salad wraps were BOMB DIGGITY!

My love for sorbet ice cream is never ending. 

The show then started with Robinsons opening the show. And let me tell you, at first I thought it would be weird to see my sister working while I sit along side the guests, but I was definitely the proudest sister ever last night.

After the Robinsons segment, the next segment was themed art pop (Brands included: Accessorize / Adidas Originals / Baleno+ / Bossini / Celio* / Giordano / Heatwave / Lowrys Farm / Stradivarius) which featured a series of bright coloured outfits incorporating the sporty and casual trend.

Florals segment was next and brands included were Dockers/ Dorothy Perkins/ Cotton On/ Criss Cross/ MANGO/ Pazzion/ PODIUM/ SWATCH/ The Good Old Days.

The Urban Segment then included brands City Chain Primo/ C square of City Chain/ Esprit/ G2000 Men & Women/ AT-20/ GG<5/ Lovisa/ Sunglass Hut/ Tracyeinny/ T.O.T- The Optique of Tomorrow/ UNIQLO

This collection was simple and sophisticated,  and i would
totally wear it as it is off the runway.

And here comes the cutest segment ever!!! THE KIDS SEGMENT! Brands included Cotton On Kids/ KidStyle/ MilaBear/ Zero2Six/ Lemmi/ Pumpkin Patch/ Scool/ Three Little Kids and A Wolf.

Some of these kids were our mini me for our new face finals last year and they are all doing so well! Better than me that is. HAHHA.

Closing show was by Marks & Spencer with a high energy cheer leading group.
