The Hip Parade @ JEM

HEY THERE!

So yesterday i attended JEM's first inaugural Spring/Summer'14 fashion campaign show produced by Daniel Boey and was very honored to be invited along with some of the few TNP new face 2013 girls.

Drinks and finger foods were served while waiting for all the guest to arrive and they were DELICIOUS. We kept hogging onto the platters and everything a server comes to us, the plate of food is literally half gone.

These salad wraps were BOMB DIGGITY!

My love for sorbet ice cream is never ending.

The show then started with Robinsons opening the show. And let me tell you, at first I thought it would be weird to see my sister working while I sit along side the guests, but I was definitely the proudest sister ever last night.

Sissy opening the show for Robinsons

After the Robinsons segment, the next segment was themed art pop (Brands included: Accessorize / Adidas Originals / Baleno+ / Bossini / Celio* / Giordano / Heatwave / Lowrys Farm / Stradivarius) which featured a series of bright coloured outfits incorporating the sporty and casual trend.

Love the bright coloured high socks.

Florals segment was next and brands included were Dockers/ Dorothy Perkins/ Cotton On/ Criss Cross/ MANGO/ Pazzion/ PODIUM/ SWATCH/ The Good Old Days.

Totally in love with this flora printed dress with polkadot socks

The Urban Segment then included brands City Chain Primo/ C square of City Chain/ Esprit/ G2000 Men & Women/ AT-20/ GG<5/ Lovisa/ Sunglass Hut/ Tracyeinny/ T.O.T- The Optique of Tomorrow/ UNIQLO

This collection was simple and sophisticated,  and i would
totally wear it as it is off the runway.

And here comes the cutest segment ever!!! THE KIDS SEGMENT! Brands included Cotton On Kids/ KidStyle/ MilaBear/ Zero2Six/ Lemmi/ Pumpkin Patch/ Scool/ Three Little Kids and A Wolf.
Some of these kids were our mini me for our new face finals last year and they are all doing so well! Better than me that is. HAHHA.

Closing show was by Marks & Spencer with a high energy cheer leading group.

Looking all kinds of swag

Dear me FORGOT about my camera again hence the lousy picture qualities so I've attached a few videos i took during the event below, so feel free to watch.

I had a few more videos but it keeps having error whenever I try uploading them, so i guess ill make do with these 2.

Alright so that's all folks and HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY TO ALL!

Freshmen Orientation 2014

Hi all!

So yesterday was Day 2 of the Orientation program for this year's new intake and I decided to head back to school to visit my fellow alumni and current student leader trainers. As some of you may know, I am graduating officially in May with a Diploma In Sport and Leisure Management, and I would say that what made my 3 years in poly education fun was first and foremost, being a student leader. And I kid you not, the amount of time and effort spent in organizing and being in front of a group of freshmen who are totally new to each other is probably one of the most difficult and awkward situation to ever be in. Hats off to those who have to work with a job scope like that, definitely not an easy task.

So here are some pictures i took with my iPhone from yesterday. Note to self: you have a camera for gods sake, please use it.
What's an orientation program with no cheers.

School of Sports Health and Leisure' 14 freshmen
Yearly affair of Jam & Hop.
Oh and did i mention, that this year the School of Hospitality worn the Principal's cup ( an inter-school competition republic polytechnic organizes) so a huge congratulations to them for breaking the streak of 2 consecutive wins by School of Engineering.

Some of the alumni and they are people who will always have a place in my heart.
I honestly feel that choosing Republic Polytechnic was one of the better choices I've made for the people I've met and the studying system that I feel that is reparable to any, for it has taught me to be a better team player and someone who can think out of the box, out of my comfort zone.

Just an advice to students starting a journey, be it RP being first choice or non of your choices, sometimes it is just meant for things to happen some way and even if its not something you have always wished for, make the best out of the situation you are being put in because the only barrier to enjoying yourself is not the environment, but yourself, and you'll never know what life can surprise you with.

Club Street Social + Skechers Electric run 2014

Club Street Social

Where:

5 Gemmill Ln, Singapore 069261
6225 5043
(nearest MRT station: Telok Ayer)

Brunch is such an in thing now a days but it is often difficult to ever find a place that has a good ambiance, good service and good food

at a reasonable price (the minimum 3 in 1).
However, Club Street Social is by far one of the places that has reached my minimum 3 in 1 expectations.
A choice of all day breakfast ($10-$20), mains ($25-$35), salads, soup, dessert ($7- $12) and drinks were provided and i liked the fact
that it was a simple menu with a choice to add on sides.

Top Left:  Bacon, Egg and Maple Butter Panini
Top right:
Scrambled Eggs, Fontina, Chives and Toast + smoked salmon
Bottom left: social burger
Bottom right
Scrambled Eggs, Fontina, Chives and Toast + bacon

My ratings:
Price- 8/10
Food- 7.5/10Ambiance- 8/10Service 8.5/10
However, my only concerns were that it is a relatively small area and it would be great that toast had a little more flair to it (rather than just plain bread with butter that could hardly even be noticeable).

Generally it was a nice place to chill with your friends and would be a place i would highly suggest to my friends.

Skechers Electric Run 2014 (Singapore)

Right after having our meal at Club Street Social, it was time to go for Skechers Electric Run Singapore 2014 ( something  I've been looking forward to for months)
The event cleverly incorporated the idea of the night lights and music to bring the energy up. Having to have a diploma in Sports & Leisure management, i find it very "satisfying" that there are more and more Corporations trying to tie in the idea of fun and healthy living together.

At the end of the race, there was an after party and it was enjoyable (tip: always pick the right group of people to go with you for an extra guarantee of fun). Would definitely sign up for future events like this, it was the bombz.

With that, i am also proud to have finally gotten a blog up and stay tuned to more updates!
